Career & Experience

Sam commenced his legal career working as an Employed Barrister for Ron Mansfield KC. He then was employed by the Crown Solicitor for Auckland for a number of years, gaining Senior Crown Classification before moving to the independent bar. While employed by the Crown Solicitor he acted for a number of government entities, prosecuted all types of cases before Judges and juries, and appeared on behalf of the Crown as the respondent on appeals in the Court of Appeal. He remains a member of the Crown Solicitor's panel and is also a member of the Serious Fraud Office's Prosecution Panel.

Sam's experience is well recognised and in 2026 he was listed as a leading criminal lawyer on the Doyles Guide.
